ENERGY AUDITS

How much is it currently costing you to heat and cool your home? There are many places air leaks out of your home. For example, on average, heating and cooling ducts alone leak 15% to 30% of all air passing through them. This is air that you have paid to heat and cool that is not getting into the interior of your home.

The cost of energy is on the rise. We have the tools and the knowledge to evaluate your home and its systems. The average pay off time for energy improvements is 3 to 5 years. These improvement can save you hundreds of dollars each month and thousands of dollars over the life of your home. They will also make your home a more comfortable and healthy place to live.

Energy audits can include both the use of a blower door test and/or infrared camera. During the audit we will assess:

• Adequacy of insulation
• Points where air can escape/enter the home, ex. exterior walls, top plates of ceilings, around windows, etc.
• Age and efficiency of heating/air conditioning equipment
• Age and efficiency of appliances
• The condition of the ductwork
